Branding
Customize the logo, colors, and footer used in PDF reports and white-label deliverables for each project or client organization.
Overview
Branding lets you customize the visual identity of any output AEO Optima generates on your behalf — primarily PDF reports, but also email digests and the embedded report header. The platform UI itself is not white-labeled (the dashboard always looks like AEO Optima), but anything you ship to a client or stakeholder can wear your brand or theirs.
What you can customize
| Asset | Where it appears |
|---|---|
| Logo | PDF report header, weekly email digest, embedded report iframe |
| Primary color | Chart accents, section headings, table highlights in reports |
| Footer text | Bottom of every PDF report page (e.g., "Prepared by Acme Agency") |
| Contact email | Reply-to address on email digests |
The dashboard, sidebar, and authenticated UI are not affected — branding only applies to deliverables.
Configuring branding
Open Settings → Branding from the sidebar.
Logo
- Click Upload logo
- Pick a PNG file — recommended size 400×100 px, transparent background
- The platform stores the logo and references it in all generated reports
- Use Remove logo to revert to the AEO Optima default mark
Logos larger than 1 MB are rejected. SVGs are supported but PNG is recommended for compatibility with the PDF renderer.
Primary color
Pick a hex color (or use the color picker). The platform applies it to:
- Chart line and bar fills
- Section heading underlines in PDF reports
- Highlighted table rows
- Email button backgrounds
Pick a color with sufficient contrast against white — the renderer doesn't auto-adjust for accessibility, so a pale yellow on white will be unreadable.
Footer text
A short string (max 200 characters) shown in the footer of every PDF report page. Common patterns:
"Prepared by Acme Agency · acmeagency.com""Confidential — internal use only""© 2026 Acme Inc. All rights reserved."
Contact email
The reply-to address used on weekly digest emails. If a recipient hits "Reply" on a digest, the message goes here. Defaults to the project owner's email if unset.
Branding scope
Branding is set per organization, not per project. All projects within the same organization share the same branding.
For agencies running multiple clients, this means each client organization has its own branding — useful because you typically want your client's logo on their reports, not yours. See Agency Dashboard for the per-client branding flow.
Resetting branding
To revert to the AEO Optima default look, click Reset to defaults at the bottom of the page. This clears the logo, color, footer, and contact email. Reports generated after the reset use AEO Optima defaults; previously generated reports keep the old branding.
Best practices
- Keep the logo simple. A complex full-color logo on a busy chart background looks worse than a clean monochrome mark. Test your logo against a real PDF before finalizing.
- Pick a color that matches the rest of the brand. The default blue is fine — only change it if you have a specific brand color to match.
- Don't overload the footer. A short attribution line is better than a paragraph of legal text. Most footer space is wasted on long disclaimers nobody reads.
- Re-generate sample reports after changes. What looks good in the settings preview might render differently in the actual PDF. Always check at least one report before committing to a branding change.
